SimpList version 2.0 - Summary of Changes

The following is a summary of changes made in SimpList version 2.0. For more information see the SimpList User Guide or online tutorials, or contact your SimpList supplier.
 

1. Increased object length

The maximum length of object names has increased from 58 characters to 117 characters.
 

2. Additional workstation objects are supported

Workstation files, web sites, commands, and more, can all be stored in and selected from SimpList object lists.
 

3. User defined symbols can be exported and updated

User defined symbols can be exported to a data set where they can be updated using the regular ISPF editor.
 

4. Members containing a string can be filtered from a member list

Some or all members containing a specified string can be temporarily removed (i.e. hidden) from a member list display.
 

5. Initial member list commands can be set

One or more initial commands can be set for execution whenever member lists are displayed. For example, to set a non-default sort order or locate a specified member (etc.).
 

6. DSLIST entry options can be set

When a data set containing wild cards is selected for any function, an optional DSLIST entry panel can be displayed. The panel allows various entry options to be set, as well as the choice of a regular or enhanced DSLIST.
 

7. SMS attributes can be changed

When a data set is selected using function I (Information), all of the attributes are displayed on a panel and any of the attributes can optionally be changed. SMS atttributes have been added to the list of displayed attributes, and can optionally be changed by entering new values.
 

8. The underlying ISPF panel source can be browsed, edited, or viewed

The underlying source for any ISPF panel can be browsed, edited, or viewed, by entering a launch command followed by an equal sign. For example, to add a new option to the ISPF main menu simply navigate to that menu and enter ED = on the command line.
